Fugro wins survey work for UAE field developments

Dutch geotechnical services company Fugro has secured multiple contracts to conduct offshore and onshore surveys for two long-term field development projects in the UAE, the company announced on Friday.

Beginning in August 2025, Fugro will provide geophysical and geotechnical services and deploy uncrewed surface vessels to conduct the surveys. The company will also provide environmental and geo-consulting services to support FEED for the development projects, which were not identified.

Fugro’s scope of work includes surveys for pipelines, cables, artificial islands and offshore structures. The value of the contract was not disclosed, but Fugro noted the projects had been partially included in its 12-month backlog figures released in April 2025, which amounted to EUR 1.48 billion.

“We are proud to support these landmark field developments with our full suite of site characterisation and consulting services. Our local expertise, combined with Fugro’s global technology leadership, will help deliver safe, efficient and sustainable outcomes for our client,” said Annabelle Vos, group director for the Middle East and India at Fugro.

Amsterdam-listed Fugro provides geo-data services to the energy industry, including for oil and gas, renewables and CCUS projects, and is also active in the infrastructure and water sectors. The company has operations in Europe, the Middle East, the Americas and Asia-Pacific.
